New cloud-based data science platform introduced by Oracle

Oracle has launched a new platform built on DataScience.com, a page it had acquired roughly two years ago. To help data scientists collaborate more efficiently, the new Oracle Cloud Data Science Platform will offer features that revolve around shared projects, model catalogues, team security policies, reproducibility, and audibility.

Oracle’s senior VP for product development Greg Pavlic describes the platform as “the first of its kind in terms of a native could service.” The company is focusing on creating a collaborative environment and governance for data scientists.

With the AutoML algorithm as its leverage, the Data Science Platform will help data scientists select the best algorithm for the use case at hand – including models and algorithm inputs.

Oracle describes the project as targeting the entire lifecycle of machine learning, from developing models to production and maintenance.
